A metallic epoxy floor is the one people stop and look at. Reflective pigments are suspended in clear resin and then moved — by pour, by roller, by torch, by hand — so the color pools, veins and separates like polished stone. It is the closest thing in this trade to a custom finish, because the pattern is created during the install and no two floors come out identical.

Metallic pigment is mixed into a clear epoxy and applied over a pigmented base — usually black, charcoal or white, which sets how dark and how dramatic the result reads. Then it gets moved. Solvent, air and tools push the pigment into veins and cells, and the pattern locks in as it cures.
Because the effect is made in the moment, the installer is the product. That is the honest trade-off with metallic: it costs more than flake and it depends entirely on the hands doing it. It is also why we test palettes with you first rather than promising a photo from someone else's job.
Two or three pigments over the right base is where most great metallic floors live. Too many colors turns muddy. High contrast between pigment and base gives you dramatic veining; low contrast gives a softer, more stone-like wash that is easier to live with in a big open room.
The other consideration is light. Metallic floors are glossy and reflective by nature, so they interact hard with windows and fixtures — beautiful in a showroom or a walkout basement, and worth thinking about in a room with a lot of afternoon glare. We will look at the light in the space during the walk-through.
Show garages, finished basements, home bars and game rooms, retail floors, salons, showrooms and offices — anywhere the floor is meant to be seen rather than just survived. In a working shop where things get dropped and dragged, a flake system is the more practical buy and we will say so.
Every metallic floor we install gets a polyaspartic clear over it. The pigment work is the whole point of the floor, and a UV-stable top coat is what keeps it from ambering — especially at Denver's altitude.
